  3. LANtastic for Windows(TM) puts the ease of LANtastic into the Windows
  4. graphic interface.  The Icon driven NET menu gives you access to the 
  5. commands necessary to login or out of the network resources, manage the 
  6. printer-queue and to access the Mail and Chat features of LANtastic.
  7.  
  8. If you need a 5-1/4 inch disk drive simply click on the appropriate server 
  9. icon under "Drive Resources"  and drag it to the "Current Connections" area 
  10. of the screen.  You can now read data from a 5-1/4 drive on that server.

  12. Need access to a servers C-drive?  The procedure is the same.
  13.  
  14. One of LANtastic's best features is sharing CD-ROM drives across the 
  15. network.  If you need to access information on a CD-ROM click on the 
  16. servers CD-ROM drive and drag it to connect it to your node.  No  
  17. additional harware or software is needed.

  19. To connect a drive, you simply point to the resource icon,...

  23. ... and drag it to the appropriate connection on your node.

  25. Connecting a printer is accomplished in the same manner.

  27. To connect to LANtastic's E-Mail feature simply click on the Mail 
  28. Icon...

  30. ...and double-click on the mail you desire to read.

  33. To login or logout from a server click on the Login/Out Icon,...

  35. Select or type in an appropriate server from the Available Servers 
  36. or Current Logins list,...

  40. ...then OK.  It's that easy to login or logout from any server.

  42. The Account Icon lets you manage individual account's access rights, 
  43. time and day of login, and other features needed to control access.

  45. The Server Mgt Icon lets you access servers on the network to 
  46. accomplish specific management tasks.

  48. One option is a graphical display showing a specific server's statistics.  
  49. This feature is invaluable in determining if a certain server is being 
  50. under or over utilized.

  52. Network Manager

  54. The LANtastic Network Manager Icon menu accesses the commands 
  55. necessary to manage the network.

  57. Choosing the Accounts Icon will bring up the accounts management 
  58. window.  Through this window you can add users, grant user access 
  59. rights,...

  61. ... assign passwords and other security and user management features.

  63. Choosing Resources enables you to designate the specific resources that 
  64. you will make available to users on the network and what rights they 
  65. will have.

  67. The Server Icon access the windows where server startup parameters are 
  68. set and specific performance and auditing issues are addressed
  69.  
  70. Maximum number of users, remote booting and number of adapters are 
  71. just a few of the parameters that can be set from this window.

  73. Additional management functions such as archive, net manager password 
  74. and printer queue maintenance are also available from this group of 
  75. icons.
